Crystal Haynes Copithorne is an Emmy award winning journalist with 20 years of experience in broadcast (most recently at Boston 25 and GBH). Haynes holds a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College, and a Masters degree in Media Advocacy from Northeastern University.
Crystal is also the creator and host of podcast and digital radio show, “Common Narrative,” and former host of Greater Boston and Basic Black on GBH.
Haynes is also part-time lecturer at Northeastern University, a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, NAACP, and serves as Co-Chair of the March of Dimes of Massachusetts board. She is a founding member of Boston While Black and is former commissioner of the Arlington Human Rights Commission.
Crystal grew up in Springfield, MA, but calls Arlington home with her husband and family who've lived in town for 5 generations.
